July 2010
With the beginning of the new financial year on 1st July 2010, two personnel changes took place within the partnership of the d-fine: Dr Hans-Peter Deutsch, one of the four founding partners, retired from active professional life and has, therefore, left d-fine’s partnership. Furthermore, Dr Christian Bormann (44) has been added to d-fine’s partnership. In recent years he has built very successfully the consulting division for the customer segment Asset Manager.

Despite the continuing financial crisis, d-fine is very pleased to invite you to this year's workshop "Science in Finance" held at the impressive Schlosshotel Kronberg (Germany) on 5/6 November 2009. German language skills are mandatory for this workshop.
As of 1 November 2009, Dr Arndt Dombert and Dr Christoph Burmester will take up new positions as Managing Directors at d-fine. Both are experts in risk management for the finance industry, with many years experience between them in risk strategy and risk governance at Roland Berger.

Starting with d-fine's new fiscal year on 1st July 2009, Dr Jörn Rank (40) joins d-fine's partnership. His extensive consultancy experience comprises mainly of infrastructure projects for the capital market businesses and risk management projects for banks

Since we recieved such an incredibly high number of applications for our workshop in June, we decided to run a second workshop at the Schlosshotel Kronberg in Germany on 30th and 31st October. German language skills are mandatory for this workshop.

From Monday Sep 29th until Thursday Oct 2nd d-fine will teach a full 4-day afternoon course at the XXI Heidelberg Physics Graduate Days on Scientific Methods for Quantifying and Managing Risk in the Financial World. In addition, d-fine invites everybody to the traditional d-fine Barbecue right after the "Hans Jensen Invited Lecture" on Wednesday evening!

From 16th till 18th June 2008, d-fine held its international recruiting workshop "Science in Finance", for the second year in a row in co-operation with the University of Oxford. Once again it took place in one of the famous colleges in Oxford, UK .

d-fine held a 4-day afternoon course at the XIX Heidelberg Physics Graduate Days showing how methods from mathematics and physics are used in todays modern finance.
We have been overwhelmed by hundreds of very good applications for our Science in Finance Workshop held in June in Oxford, UK. Even the very good ones were far more then we had places at the workshop. We did therefore organize a second workshop at the Schlosshotel Kronberg in Germany on October 18th and 19th.
June 2007
d-fine's traditional recruiting workshop "Science in Finance" was held for the first time outside Germany. The event took place in Oxford, UK, in co-operation with the University of Oxford.
